OUR
BELIEF
As a member of BBCP, you
should have the basic knowledge of what we believe and why. This is the
trademark of Bible Baptists: we know what we believe and why. Because of
this , we are ready to give an answer to any man who would ask anything
regarding our faith. It is not only the church leaders' responsibility to
feed you God's Word; it is your responsibility as a member to study and to
pray to God for understanding.
- Assurance &
Security : No one enters the membership of the Bible Baptist
Church of Pasay without professing salvation. As a member, it is
supposed that you have a clear understanding of what salvation is and
an assurance that you are saved, born-again and possesses eternal
life.
- Baptism : The
next step after salvation is baptism because it is the Christian's
first act of obedience to God. After a person recieves Christ as
Savior, he cannot really begin to obey God without first being
baptized.
- Prayer & Bible
Reading : as children of God and enjoying a good relationship with
Christ, we are given the privilege to communicate with Him both in
prayer and in devotion. These two are vital aspects of the believer's
life because in Bible reading or devotion, God communicates to man
through His Word.
- The New Testament
Church : The Church must be important to every member because she
is also important to the Lord Jesus Christ as can be seen in the
following:
- One reason for His
coming down as man was to establish the Church (Matt. 16:18);
- He personally gave
the Great Commission to the church. To no other entity was the
commission given; not to any individual, fellowship or
evangelistic organization (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8);
- He loved the Church
enough to die for her (Eph. 5:25);
- He empowered the
Church (Acts 1:8a;2:1-3);
- He will come for the
Church (John 14:3); (Acts 1:10-11; Eph. 5:27) The Lord Jesus
Christ will come like a bridegroom for his bride, The New
Testament Baptist Church. She is the closest to Him;
- She is where every
believer is instructed to fellowship with other believers in
prayer, worship, service; to grow in grace and maturity and to be
established in the faith (Acts 2:46-47);
- She is the
storehouse of the tithes, offerings, thanksgiving, first fruits,
and other gifts (Mal. 3:10);
- Every believer is
commanded not to forsake her assembly (Heb. 10:25);
- It is in her that
Jesus Christ is glorified throughout all ages (Eph. 3:21).
- The Scriptures : The
Bible is the infallible Word of God. It is inspired of God (2 Tim.
3:16;2 Pet.1:19-21) "Inspiration" means
"God-breathed" or simply, the influence of the Spirit of God
upon the minds of the Scripture writers in writing God's revelation to
man. Irrefutable evidence , such as, the unity of the Scriptures, the
fulfillment of prophecies, the scientific accuracy of the Scriptures
and the transforming power of the Word of God compel every honest
thinker to admit that the Bible is indeed a Book from God. Considering
also that the Bible was written by about forty (40) authors in a
period of 1,500 years, compiled and published in the early centuries
but until now, the most accurate book and bestseller. The Bible does
not certain the Word of God. Rather, the Bible IS the VERY Word of
God.
- The Balanced
Christian Life : The balanced Christians life consists both of
hearing and doing; of acknowledging His will and submitting to it; of
being willing instruments of Christ so that He is able to work in us
and do according to His good pleasure (Phil. 2:13). James 1:22 says, "But
be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own
selves." It is having a balanced "intake" of God's
Word and "outwork" of His will in our lives.
- The Grace of Giving :
The Bible explicitly teaches that we should not only give of
ourselves to God but also of our substance. It is commanded by God for
the purpose of the support of His works and the furtherance of the
Gospel. the early believers also give us examples of how to exercise
the same. Along with the command, God also promises to bless those who
give.
